It's been too long, as far as Peggy's concerned. The offer from Tony had been made quite a while ago and she's been prodding at Daniel to take him up on it, but still she hasn't had the sort of luck she generally finds she has when she's persistently determined to get results. It's left her feeling a touch out of sorts, but she also believes that she's been using the lack of information as an excuse not to go and see Tony. Today, she decides, she plans to set that to rights now.

Arming herself with some of the Velveeta that Howard so dearly loved (and some pastries, in the event that Tony didn't have absolutely horrible tastebuds like his father, Peggy heads towards Tony's last known address and knocks on his door, thinking that if nothing else, she won't continue to feel so terribly guilty about avoiding him because she's not, now is she?

Besides, since when has Peggy Carter ever shied away from facing a Stark?

Never mind that she absolutely has, she's ignoring that truth right now.

Peggy takes the drink and makes a clear point of not drinking too much, too quickly, not only because being tipsy right now seems like a poor idea, but she also doesn't want to force Tony to make her another drink right away. "I'd like to think I am, but I've skipped a lot of years to get here," she says. She knows that there are topics to talk about with regards to what that world looks like (and Steve's role in it), but she's here to learn about Tony, not anything else.

"So," she says, settling into a chair that she chooses. "I want to know everything about Tony Stark, the things that only close friends know. Your favourite foods, where you went to school, favourite topics, first crushes," she teases, as if he's not older than her.

Tony gave Peggy a smile, too close to his father's. It managed to be a smile, even though the corners of his mouth turned down, instead of up. There was a huge gulf, between where Peggy had come from, and what she'd come into. And Tony wasn't even alive for much of it.

"Uh, wow. Right to the juicy details, huh? Favorite food, cheeseburgers. The cheaper and greasier the better, like diner food. I like black coffee. Vanilla ice cream. I got a Masters in Physics and Electrical Engineering at MIT. I don't have any favorite topics. Everything is my favorite topic. And I am definitely not--"

Tony eyed Peggy over the top of his drink, before draining some of it and setting it down with a soft click.

"--talking about any of my crushes, with anyone, ever. Preferably, I'm not admitting to ever having any."

She ticks off little boxes in her brain for every answer that she gets, rather pleased to be learning more about Tony like this, even if she's hardly doing it in a subtle, natural way. She's missed a lot of years, there's a great deal to make up for, she'll insist. "No tea? Clearly I haven't had enough of an influence on you," is her arch reply, giving Tony an unflinching look in return.

"Now, you see, when you deny wanting to talk about your crushes, it only makes me more stubbornly determined," she says, as if he ought to understand that about her. "What will I have to offer you in turn to get that information?"
